Your work as corporate social worker (CSW) enhances the autonomy of the employees you guide. Your personal guidance gives our client’s employees insight and helps them take responsibility for making long-term behavioural changes. This contributes to ensuring that employees carry out work that they like, are capable of doing and that fits well with their lifestyle.
As corporate social worker, you recognise and acknowledge employees’ pitfalls in a fast-moving and technical environment. You dare to look further than the individual employee and to think along with the client when you identify patterns. You initiate contact with colleagues in the internal client team and discuss what you encounter at the client’s location. Together you translate situations into concrete, preventive advice for the client: how do you keep employees healthy, motivated and competent? Being familiar with professional terms and knowing how to express emotions in English is a plus so that having an advisory meeting in English is no problem for you. Your days vary and consist of discussions with employees, supervisors, HR and your own colleagues. You are usually found at the client’s location in the region of Eindhoven, Den Bosch and Tilburg. Sometimes, you work from the office in Son or from home. You are always in charge of your schedule.
At our office in Son, you will work with your CSW colleagues and you will also be part of the internal client team that includes the medical officer, an occupational health & safety nurse or a nurse practitioner for medical officers, a health coordinator and various advisors. At the location of the client, you will often meet with the HR department and supervisors. Multidisciplinary collaboration is key in this job position. Together, you will reach the most suitable solution for the client.
Obviously, there are plenty of reasons, but we will begin with five:
We want to be transparent about what is less pleasant about this job. Sometimes, you have to deal with a complex context at the client’s end, which is beyond your control or influence. Consequently, sometimes something might take more time than you would like it to. And a bit of administration work is also part of this job.
And now the moment of truth: What do you have to offer as a professional and what are we looking for? A trained company welfare officer with proven work experience, because that is what our clients deserve. An advantage, but not a requirement, is having experience in motivational interviewing aimed at behavioural changes. Additonal requirements are:
